Travelling to Japan to participate in the Inter-Pacific Pony Club Nationals was the beginning of it all. Wilson King, a 17-year-old farm boy from Pennsylvania, saw travelling abroad as a wonderful opportunity and eye-opener. A year-long journey across the globe, including stops in Korea, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Australia, was sparked by his newly discovered love of travel.

Wilson had just $30 when he arrived in Australia, so he purchased two damaged bikes. He began the next part of his trip by combining the finest aspects of both. He received his first oilskin duster as a present from one visit in particular. "My only family in Australia was the Oilskin Duster and Motorcycle."

King's career and future were still up in the air when he returned to the United States in 1978. He saddled up his horse, got his Oilskin Duster, and set off on a walk across the Brandywine Valley in rural Pennsylvania one day. The rain began to fall. No worries, he continued riding since he had his duster.

It dawned on him then that he would be soaked without his Australian Oilskin Duster. Wilson was really excited by this discovery. Encouraged, he went after Clay born Brothers, who made Wilson's first oilskin duster in Australia. Wilson's Jeep Wagoner sold out of the first supply of oilskin dusters.

One guy, his horse, and his duster gave birth to Lesa Collection INC. Nowadays, among outdoor enthusiasts, Lesa Collection INC. is a well-known brand.
